Tekashi 6ix9ine has announced his first new album since he was released from prison earlier this year. The album is called Tattle Tales and it comes out September 4.
Tattle Tales is 6ix9ine’s follow-up to 2018’s DUMMY BOY. The new album includes “GOOBA” and his Nicki Minaj collaboration “TROLLZ.”
6ix9ine was arrested on federal charges racketeering charges in November 2018. He initially pled not guilty but changed his plea in February 2019 when he agreed to cooperate with federal prosecutors. The rapper eventually testified for several days against alleged gang members, who were found guilty after his testimony.
Ultimately, 6ix9ine was sentenced to two years in prison, with the sentence scheduled to end in August 2020. Prior to that date, he was granted an early release due to COVID-19.
He was sentenced in 2019 on charges related to gang activity in New York, but received a reduced sentence after cooperating with federal investigators and informing on his former gang associates.
In May he dropped a song and music video for, "GOOBA."
He is best known for his 2017 debut single "Gummo," which peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100, and his collaboration with Nicki Minaj on his 2018 song "FEFE."
New York rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine‘s girlfriend Jade is giving the real-life troll a reason to make her mad. The hip-hop model went online to playfully tease her boo about feeling tempted enough to leak his upcoming Tattle Tales album.
Looks like there's been some clarification surrounding the rumors that Megan Thee Stallion has a feature on 6ix9ine's upcoming album.
Following what appears to be a false tracklist for Tekashi's new album, TattleTales, that surfaced online last week, LilJuMadeDaBeat, the producer for Megan's songs “Big Ole Freak” and "Cash Shit," has denied that she will be appearing on the controversial rapper's latest effort, which drops on Friday (Sept. 4).
A Twitter user wrote to LilJuMadeDaBeat on Aug. 27, questioning the accuracy of the album's song lineup, presumably referring to Megan's supposed feature.
In other TattleTales-related news, over the weekend, 6ix9ine posted a poll on his Instagram Story, enlisting fans to help him decide if he should put an already completed Tory Lanez collaboration on the album.
"I got this old Tory record that he cleared for me in 2017," he said. "IM WRONG IF I PUT IT ON MY ALBUM ??? It's already cleared & ITS A FUCKIN HIT." Tekashi shared the results of the poll and 83 percent of his followers supports the track featuring the Toronto rapper being placed on the album while 17 percent are against it.
6ix9ine's apprehension about going forward with having Tory on his album comes after Megan Thee Stallion confirmed on Aug. 20 that the Canadian artist shot her last month prior to him being arrested for a gun charge.
The "Punani" rapper first announced his upcoming album last week in an Instagram video while on Chicago's O Block. Shortly after sharing the clip, he received backlash from Lil Durk, Lil Reese and King Von, all of whom are from the Windy City.
6ix9ine later had an exchange with Reese and resurfaced an old video of the Chicago rapper getting jumped last year. Reese rapper responded via his IG Story, calling out Tekashi and his girlfriend, Jade.
